TAMARIS CAÑALS
Biography

 

Multi-platform content producer and project manager Tamaris Cañals has assumed many roles in the entertainment business.  Her 20-year career as a an actress performing on stages in New York and her native Puerto Rico transitioned to a successful career in Television, Film and multi-media production. As a production manager she facilitates the development of television and film projects in Puerto Rico maximizing the use of a 40% tax incentive (One of the largest tax incentives in the Television and Feature Film Markets).

 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities from The University of Puerto Rico (Magna Cum Laude) as well as a Master of Fine Arts in Liberal Arts from The New School University and The Actor’s Studio program in New York and has completed further film studies at UCLA.

 

Television production credits as Associate Producer/ Production Coordinator include “Inside the Actor’s Studio” (BRAVO), Telenovela-Daytime Series “Al Son del Amor” (WAPA) and the live broadcast Variety Show “En Serio Con Silverio” (PBS).  She has also produced multiple theater plays and in 1998 accepted the position of Director of Artistic and Cultural Affairs for community based programs on public housing projects in Puerto Rico, a position she remained in until 2000.

 

Tamaris partnered with David Resnik in 2005 and started LUNATICA PRODUCTIONS, developing, creating, and producing projects for all media. Endeavors include a broadcast design package for HBO INDEPENDENT FILMS, music in the Warner Bros film “THE LOSERS”, music supervisor and music production for the LIFETIME movie, “CHRISTMAS IN PARADISE”, and music and video projects for SONY/BMG, UMG, UMG CANADA, THE ANT FARM and HOWLING ENTERTAINMENT.

 

Not long after Tamaris co-founded the PUERTO RICO SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR with a selection of the finest and most experienced recording musicians on the island as well as the Alternative/Indie-Rock ORCHESTRA LUNATICA (available on I-Tunes) in Los Angeles.  She has also produced music videos for Beyoncé, Draco Rosa, Vivanativa, Universal Music and Sony Music artists. She has managed editorial shoots and videos for Austrian Live das Star-Magazin der Kronen Zeitung and The Renaissance Hotels International. Tamaris is actively developing film projects, creating television and web based content and social media relations for various companies.

LUNATICA and Tamaris’ partner David Resnik currently have new projects in development for television and film in both Puerto Rico and Los Angeles.

DAVID RESNIK
Biography

 

Guitarist, songwriter, producer, A&R, executive… David Resnik has successfully assumed many roles in the music and entertainment industry. Arriving in Hollywood from Richmond, VA in the late 1970’s to attend Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) Resnik set about forming a band that landed a cameo in the now classic film FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. Originally a guitarist, composer and producer, Resnik then became an A&R scout and executive working with an array of accomplished artists that included LUCINDA WILLIAMS, DONNA SUMMER, TONE LOC, JOHN LEE HOOKER, DRAMARAMA and KYUSS.

 

Promoted to VP of Chameleon/Elektra Records he remained there until their sale in 1994. Looking for something different, Dave co-founded MAD BUS MUSIC. There he created the Music Signatures and campaigns for a number of major networks, including ABC, CBS, UPN, Warner Brothers, BRAVO, SKY SPORTS, MUSIC COUNTRY; composed for TV (CRIME STORIES, NATIONAL ENQUIRER) films (SOME GIRL, PYTHON, ON THE EDGE, WATERPROOF); and movie trailers (UNBREAKABLE, TRAPPED, SOMETHING ABOUT MARY). At the same time Resnik was performing and recording with SONIA DADA, contributing guitar work and songwriting for artists such as MAVIS STAPLES and THE STAPLES SINGERS, ANNE MURRAY, ROBI DRACO ROSA, VICTORIA WILLIAMS and many others.

 

In 2005 Dave then co-founded LUNATICA PRODUCTIONS to develop, create and produce projects for all media. Endeavors include a broadcast design package for HBO INDEPENDENT FILMS, music in the Warner Bros film “THE LOSERS”, scoring the LIFETIME movie, “CHRISTMAS IN PARADISE”, and music and video projects for SONY/BMG, UMG, UMG CANADA, THE ANT FARM and HOWLING ENTERTAINMENT.

 

In 2006, interested in the future delivery of music, Dave accepted the position of Vice President, Creative Development at FUZZ ARTISTS, a San Francisco, CA based Internet Music Company. While being an early music/social network trendsetter, FUZZ closed its doors in 2009.

 

Both during and after FUZZ, Dave continued his work with LUNATICA, including recent projects with THE ANT FARM, performing on the final STAPLES SINGERS recording, playing with and producing THE AFTER MIDNIGHT CLUB, ORCHESTRA LUNATICA (available on I-Tunes), DANIEL NIELSEN and the power-punk band NEVER LIKE THE MOVIES. LUNATICA and Dave’s partner TAMARIS CANALS currently have new projects in development for television and film in both Puerto Rico and Los Angeles.
